Preliminary tests and their importance

Preliminary tests are a set of tests performed on the project cells before their integration. This series of tests, carried out according to our own method, provides the essential information for the cells characterization.

The results of our highly technical tests are essential for the correct parameterization of the BMS. This test step is too often put aside because of the investment in material and human resources that is difficult to support by the customer. We have observed that this failure leads to serious consequences such as production delays, malfunctioning of the finished product or even the cancellation of the project.

We adapt to the singularity and complexity of each project presented. Thus, at the customer's request, the precision of our process can be refined by adding even more advanced tests. Solving your problems by providing ingenious and efficient solutions is the essence of the SIG Energy Technology Research Laboratory.

Cell diagnostics

During their life, parameters and physico-chemical phenomena cause cells to evolve (drop in capacity, increase in internal resistance, etc.).

When the customer notices a failure of his battery, or because he wishes to make a complete check-up, he sends a sample of cells to our Research Laboratory. The role of our engineers is to analyze the conditions of use of these cells as well as their ageing in order to evaluate their state of health at a given moment (SOH). SIG Energy Technology uses all its know-how and relies on the large amount of data collected since the creation of the Laboratory.

The information on the state of the battery and the individual or collective behavior of the cells allows integrators to identify the improvements to be made in order to obtain a product that meets their specifications.

Types of tests offered

In addition to the tests related to our characterization method, we propose tests related to the quality of the cells and others specific to the programming of the BMS. They will be the subject of our next article.
