With over 10 years of expertise in Lithium-Ion technologies, we established our testing laboratory in 2020 with a clear objective: to guarantee products that are safe, consistent, and high-performing over time.

To date, SIG ENERGY TECHNOLOGY has tested over 180 references of prismatic and cylindrical cells, covering capacities from 2 Ah to 314 Ah. This has allowed us to build one of the most comprehensive databases in the market. This represents more than 650 tests conducted, reinforcing our technical reference framework in the service of quality. Our expertise spans a wide range of applications: electric mobility (buses, utility vehicles, retrofits), stationary storage (ESS, UPS), maritime and river transport, and many other projects in industry and energy infrastructure.

Rigorous testing to ensure reliability and performance

At SIG ENERGY TECHNOLOGY, quality is not just a promise : it is a requirement from the very beginning of the selection process. Every Lithium-Ion cell reference undergoes a complete series of tests in our laboratories before market release. The goal is to select only the most reliable and bhigh-performing cells. SIG ENERGY TECHNOLOGY works directly with cell manufacturers to define and enforce rigorous specifications. This close collaboration ensures quality is controlled from production, with precise criteria addressing reliability, performance, and consistency.

A comprehensive and demanding approach

Each cell is subjected to in-depth evaluations across key criteria:

  • Lifetime: Each cell undergoes charge/discharge cycles to simulate years of accelerated use, anticipating degradation and ensuring long-term durability.
  • Internal resistance (DCIR): A key indicator to detect potential weaknesses throughout the cell’s life. Measurements are taken every 100 cycles during lifetime testing, providing an easy estimate of a cell’s SOH.
  • OCV/SOC curves: Profiling of open-circuit voltage after relaxation according to capacity to obtain a full charge/discharge voltage curve (80 points in total) characteristic of each chemistry.
  • Behavior at different currents (C-rates): Tests conducted at various C-rates to observe voltage curves and temperature rise, ensuring capacity remains stable under applied currents.
  • Temperature performance: Observation of cells exposed to various temperatures to analyze stability (internal resistance, capacity, and lifetime) under extreme conditions.

This rigorous approach allows us to:

  • Guarantee consistency and uniform quality across all cells of a given reference throughout its commercialization (capacity, voltage, internal resistance, lifetime).
  • Exclude any unstable or non-compliant cells.
  • Deliver qualified cells for long-term integration.

Ongoing quality control

Our commitment continues beyond initial validation. During commercialization, cell sampling operations are performed to :

  • Verify batch consistency.
  • Detect any deviations early
  • Maintain a high level of reliability for every delivered cell.
